MATES WA - Respond Training

The MATES Respond Program is a 4-hour training course created upon the request of MATES volunteers to provide a best practice framework in supporting a site/company after an incident, this training compliments the overall MATES model.

It is available to MATES Connectors or ASIST Volunteers.  A Respond Volunteer can provide guidance to site after a death or critical incident. They provide safety and support to the site whilst broader connections and supports are put in place. 
 

The training covers the following:
 

• Connecting with the event.

• Understanding the event.

• Assisting workers on site/workplace.

The outcome of this program is to provide sites with their own supports and guidance when an incident happens. It equips them to look after the site until further supports can attend.
