Matinee | Into the Secret Garden | Lower School Production - Saturday

Into The Secret Garden is inspired by the stories of Frances Hodgson Burnett, who wrote A Little Princess and The Secret Garden, dramatised by Caroline Brand.

The Year 7-9 production tells the story of three 14-year-old cousins: Sara Crewe, Mary Lennox, and Colin Craven. The three adolescents' mothers were sisters who lived at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire, England.

In Act 1, we start with Sara Crewe's story. Sara is sent from India to Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies in London after her mother dies. There, Sara encounters the cruel headmistress, Miss Minchin.

In Act 2, we follow Sara to Misselthwaite Manor, where she first meets her cousin Mary Lennox, who has already taken up residence at the Manor, another orphan from India. Together, the girls discover their sickly cousin, Colin, who appears unable to walk. All three children discover the gardens of Misselthwaite and the secret garden that has the power to heal.
