    Event description

    Matt Green - Great Divide

Matt Green is an Australian singer-songwriter with an integrity that can only come from abundant life experience. Green absorbed the musical influences which has led to a 25-year international career as a gun for hire for people such as Renee Geyer, Missy Higgins, Simon Felice, Jordie Lane and Tracy McNeil to name a few. When people say an artist's first album is their life’s work, that is definitely the case here. Matt Green's debut LP Great Divide takes us on a journey through the music that has shaped him to this day.

The album was recorded at Union Street Studios and features some of the greats of the Melbourne music scene including Danny Farugia (Missy Higgins, Tina Arena), Tim Keegan (Liz Stringer, Mia Dyson) and Zane Lindt (Jordie Lane, Luke Sinclair). It was produced by Roger Bergodaz (Tex Perkins, Lost Ragas). After the first few days of recording, the raw and dynamic sound of the musicians proved that a few live takes were all that were needed to craft a future classic.

Matt Green proves that continually having the courage to be humble, the perseverance to push through the tough times, and never forgetting to love and be loved helps to create a story that the universe needs to know.

    Dana Gehrman
Brisbane based guitar-slinger and singer Dana Gehrman delivers a vintage sound that evokes rich nostalgia.  Taking influence from the halcyon days of 70’s ‘west coast’ music, Gehrman offers a mix of upbeat, feel good tracks all with unfaltering vocals.  Armed with her old Fender telecaster, Dana takes no prisoners on stage with more panache and vitality than most rock n roll men could dream of.  Fresh from her success of being a finalist for the prestigious Carrol Lloyd Award and release of debut album ‘Find A Way’, Gehrman has spent time on the road with Tim Rogers(You Am I), Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything) and Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) and opened for acts such as The Teskey Brothers, Russell Morris, Wagons, Sarah McLeod (The Super Jesus), Mia Dyson and more.

Brett Canning                                    Brett is an APRA Award-nominated songwriter. After years of touring as a sideman 2022 sees him releasing new music as a solo artist. His music draws on a wide range of influences including Bon Iver and Tom Petty.
