Event description

Join the Ovens Landcare Network to learn about the importance of large old trees in our environment.

Our presenters include Bpangerang Elder Uncle Dozer Atkinson, Associate Professor Paul Rymer, and local ecologist Ian Davidson.

We will explore the cultural and environmental significance of large old trees, focusing on the iconic River Red Gum. Learn about how vital mature trees are to our environment, how eucalypts will be affected by a changing climate, and gets hands on experience using a simple app to monitor the health of our environment.

The event will include a short walk around Northern Beaches where we will learn more about river red gums and how to use a new citizen science app (COVRAM).
