Event description

Join us for a special Remembrance Day family event with Shannon Melville, illustrator of Mavis the Little Plane Spotter!

Celebrate the spirit of remembrance as Shannon shares the heartwarming story of Mavis. Take part in a fun draw-along session with Shannon, create vibrant poppy wreaths, and enjoy exciting plane-spotting activities using paper planes.

Bring the whole family to remember, create, and let your imagination soar!

About the book:

It’s World War Two and Darwin is bombed. Mavis wants to help the war effort, but what can a ten-year-old girl do? Become a plane spotter!

Imagine her surprise when she sees an enemy plane through her binoculars! Does she have what it takes to save the town?

This event is suitable for families with children aged 5+

Please be advised that children under the age of 13 years are to be accompanied by an adult at this event.

If you are unwell or cannot attend, please contact the library as soon as you are able to allow someone else to take your place
