Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from visiting New Yorker, Stephen Durham.
Durham is the Freedom Socialist Party’s International Secretary. He was radicalised as a student, anti-Vietnam war activist. He became a pioneering queer activist and union militant, working as a waiter. Durham was a rank-and-file leader in the 1985 NYC Hotel Trades Council strike. In 2012, he stood as a proud Marxist feminist candidate for U.S. President on a ticket with Christine López. A thinker as well as a doer, Durham has written on such topics such as standing up to right wing bigots, critiquing identity politics, the environmental disaster of hydraulic fracking, revolution in the Western Hemisphere, and the crisis of world Trotskyism.
Presentation and discussion followed by dinner/social.
