May Monthly Mingle
Event description
Join us for our May Monthly Mingle on Sunday 19 May. It is an informal get-together that aims to bring people closer to their local food system and community. Monthly Mingles are an opportunity to share food, stories, and views on sustainability and our food system.
This month we are very pleased to welcome Holly McCosker of Tiny Farm CBR to talk about her work. Holly grows healthy, local, organically-grown seedlings for the Canberra climate. After taking over the business set up by her sister, Holly has been running Tiny Farm CBR for 18 months. Holly feels lucky to be able to continue on, doing something she loves, whilst also being able to be there for her boys.
Tiny Farm CBR is about encouraging people to grow their own beautiful produce by providing seasonal seedlings tailored to the Canberra climate. It’s about sharing the love of growing, whether it be veggies, flowers, or both! It’s about building community, playing in the dirt, and trying to live the kind of life that matches her values.
As usual, before Holly’s talk, we’ll be firing up the pizza oven and will provide pizza bases, sauce, and cheese; please bring other pizza toppings for our volunteers to prepare various options to share.
Lunch: 1200 to 1:30 pm
Talk: 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Who: All welcome!
Bring: pizza toppings to share, drinks
