Tours of the Mazza Castle
Event description
Local historians from the Pacifica Historical Society and guest docents lead colorful tours of the Mazza Castle.
Hear the history of the Castle, from its dramatic appearance on a Pacifica hillside following the Great San Francisco Earthquake in 1906, to its evolution into a historic speakeasy and then Coast Guard barracks during WWII. Guests will be treated to a video welcome and introduction by the Castle’s final owner and inspired donor, Salvatore (Sam) Mazza, whose largesse created the Sam Mazza Foundation, a 501©3 non-profit funding the arts. Docents will regale guests with stories, including the many mysteries and rumors surrounding this historic landmark. Lucky guests may even see one of our many ghosts – but don’t worry, they’re friendly!
Enjoy a room-by-room tour followed by delightful refreshments in the solarium, one of the Castle’s many rooms with a view.
Please Note:
The tours, for adults only, are approximately 90 minutes in duration.
The Castle is not wheelchair accessible. Tours require navigating some stairs.
No outside food/drink, spiked heels, or pets are permitted.
The Castle is a non-smoking property.
