Merri-bek Family Festival (MBFF)
Event description
Merri-bek Family Festival MBFF is a new arts festival for children and their families.
All activities at Brunswick Library & Town Hall & the Counihan Gallery.
During the first week of Sept school holidays, dive headlong with your kids into a creative arts WORKSHOP
- Sept 18: build a magic garden (ages 7-12 yrs)
- Sept 19: make a talking shadow puppet (ages 5-12)
- Sept 20: learn to beatbox (ages 5 +)
- Sept 21: learn how to publish your own mini-book (ages 5-12)
- Sept 24: expand your creative writing: "Finding a poem" (suitable for 10 yrs+)
--> At Brunswick library: Workshops are FREE, but bookings are essential as space is limited. (Reserve tickets here on this site)
Our Friday (22 Sept), come experience the festival opening performance of choir (Choral Edge) and light projections created by children (maybe yours?) at Brunswick Library -- this is FREE to attend.
On Saturday & Sunday (23 & 24 Sept), come along and experience local artists in musical story-time, Virtual Reality (VR) cinema and a mega scavenger hunt. Except for our Brunswick Town Hall Program, all activities and workshops at the Merri-bek Family Festival are completely FREE!

- Fritz (10:15am: Saturday) : clown and puppet show
- Sticks Stones Broken Bones (12:15 pm: & 3pm Saturday) : shadow puppet show
- Ultra Galactic Hyper Spacescape: (1- 4 pm Sunday) : drop in, and experience another galaxy - music and puppet making, with video projections, live music and alien creatures from Kinetic Theatre.
