Event description
Eric McCusker & Gerry Smith’s Well-Oiled Machine in Concert
Sunday 2 February 6.30pm
Eric McCusker is an ARIA nominated and APRA Award winning iconic songwriter and musician who showcases his incredible guitar and bass skills in addition to his master songwriting and musicianship.
Eric has worked with notable Australian singers and bands including Richard Clapton, Mark Seymour, Ross Wilson, Tania Doko, heavyweights such as Mondo Rock, Cookin’ on 3 Burners, Hugh Jackman, Renee Geyer and more, and has had his songs covered by John Farnham, Rick Springfield and Lucy Durack.
He is well known for his hits including “Come Said the Boy” and “State of the Heart”. In this intimate show, Eric will track his incredible journey in song, at times being joined by guests from Gerry’s Well-Oiled Machine.
Gerry Smith is a Melbourne singer-songwriter whose indomitable spirit and positive energy is an inspiration to all who meet him. Gerry has merged his screen writing and poetry skills with his love of jazz singing. His debut album comes later in life for Gerry, due to accessibility issues earlier on in his career. Creating his enriching and life- affirming album, which draws on his experience of growing up in the 60's and 70's and his experience of living as a man with cerebral palsy, is a wonderful insight into a unique life, well-lived. Bringing his vision together with his APRA award-winning collaborators, Gerry recently released his debut album with this show being a part of his launch tour. Busking his own original songs on the street, Gerry has truly taken music to the people and the response has been awesome!
His ‘Well-Oiled’ Machine band also features award winning singer/songwriters Jake Mason and Jessica Paige.
