Be a part of this important dialogue on ‘Shared Prosperity: the economy we have, the one we need and what we can do to make it better’ hosted by The Australian National University McCusker Institute, in collaboration with The Next Economy,

Australia has great economic wealth, yet the benefits are not shared by all and the way it is created is damaging the natural environment that we all depend upon. Hear from Dr Katherine Trebeck, Economic Change Program Director at The Next Economy, alongside a distinguished panel of experts for a thought-provoking exploration on how we arrived at this juncture and the decisions and agendas that gave rise to the economic system of today. Together, we will consider the barriers, obstructions and emerging practices—both locally and globally— to inform a practical discussion on how we can make wellbeing, compassion, and inclusive economic thinking central to policy, practice, and everyday life.

Dr Katherine Trebeck - Economic Change Lead, The Next Economy
Presenting the keynote drawing on her new policy paper on economic wellbeing and compassion to challenge the status quo of existing systems and provide inspiration from examples of alternate models.

Ms Kasy Chambers - Anglicare Australia Executive Director
Providing insights of the lived experience of community members, wider social impacts and costs of poor health and wellbeing, as well as the strategies and programs from the community sector to support community outcomes.

Dr Tamara  Riley - Research Fellow, Yardhura Walani, the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research at ANU
Sharing knowledge from her interdisciplinary research that centres Indigenous worldviews and promotes holistic approaches to health and wellbeing. This includes the implications for the One Health framework, which recognises the intrinsic links between human, animal, and environmental health and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations.
