Event description

The McKenzie River Chainsaw & Arts Festival is back in 2024!   The McKenzie River Community Track and Field Board is excited to bring this amazing event back to Blue River after needing to cancel following the Global Pandemic and devastating Wildfires in the McKenzie River Valley.

About our event:

Chainsaw Art Festivals and competitions are held all over the USA, Canada and Europe.

Although the festival held at the McKenzie Community Track and Field is not a competition event, many of these festivals are competitions.

Some festivals are open to carving artists to apply for entry, while our festival, (McKenzie River) is entry by invitation only (an invitational event).
The artists that will be participating in our show are national and international, first place, award winning artists. These artists are well known in the chainsaw art realm. Some of them are also judges and auctioneers in these events, as well. These artists have followings of people that attend many of their events!

Some of the artists that plan to attend the McKenzie River show this year are Bob King, (a world favorite and winner), Chris Foltz, (also an ice carver who took first place in Alaska this past March), Ryan Anderson (who will be our Auctioneer this year), Jacob Lucas, Alex Pricob, and others.

The McKenzie River Chainsaw & Arts Festival is scheduled to be held:

August 8-11, 2024

Hours will be:

August 8-10: 10:00 am- 5:00 pm August 10, 10:00 am-3:00 pm

Each artist will make 2 "quick carves" each day ( with one made on the last day).  A "quick carve" is a carving that is made in 2 hours. You can watch a log become an eagle, bear, etc., in only 2 hours!

Then later, ( about 3pm), you can purchase these carvings at the daily auction. A "main carve", (6'-8' carving), is made over the 4 day festival,  and is auctioned off the last day of the festival.
