About the event:

Everyone can work! Having a job is an important part of a good life. It allows us to earn a living, to contribute, to develop our skills, as well as build relationships and be part of our community.

This workshop is for people with disability who want to work in open employment but have found that the traditional pathways don’t always lead to the jobs you want. In this interactive workshop, get started in working out what sort of job would be right for you, and learn about different ways to work towards it, including creating employment opportunities that matches your skills and interests.

About the Presenter:

A young smiling woman from the shoulders up with long red hair outside in a garden. She is wearing a mustard coloured top, a gold necklacke and earrings.

Nellie Godwin-Welch has grown up as a sister to someone with complex disabilities, and was exposed to CRU’s work as part of building a good life for their sibling from a young age. Nellie has spent the last decade working in the disability sector, as a direct support worker, case manager, Circle of Support facilitator and mentor. Nellie has supported individuals, alongside their families, to find employment, move into their own home, start their own micro-businesses, study, volunteer and build friendships and relationships.
