FAQs
- What is accessibility at the venue like?
Majority of the Meanjin Queer Arts Showcase will be held upstairs at the venue at season 3. Unfortunately, to view the visual arts, guests will need to climb a staircase, as there is no elevator.
However, guests are still more than welcome to roam the stalls and view the performances in the outside area! Furthermore, when performances are occurring upstairs, the sound will be connected to the downstairs speakers as well, allowing guests to enjoy the music live, even if they cannot see the performers.
There will be an accessible bathroom available for attendee usage.
We are sincerely sorry that we cannot be a completely accessible event in this way, but are so glad to offer alternatives, and truly appreciate your interest and support. We will only continue to improve in the future!
- Is there an age requirement for the event?
Yes. As echo & bounce/season 3 are licensed venue, this event is strictly 18+, and entry will be denied to anyone without a valid form of ID.
Due to the nature and demographic of the event, please note that artworks may contain adult themes and/or content.
- I really want to come, but the tickets have gotten too expensive...
We want to make this event as accessible as possible for everyone.
So if you're really keen to come, but unable to afford the tickets at their current pricing, please feel free to DM us (@queer.art.meanjin or @malithiiiii_) or the venue (@echoandbounce_) on Instagram, and we will figure something out!
All we ask is that you do truly make your best effort to attend the event, as ideally all ticketholders will be able to come and celebrate our beautiful community :)
