Measure what matters: Actions for carbon zero
Event description
Calling all Upper Clutha business owners, operators and staff members!
As our region works towards a carbon zero future, local businesses are demonstrating that small beginnings can lead to real and meaningful changes.
On September 20th, come and join the conversation and start taking action at a morning workshop designed to tackle waste. Wastebusters and Lake Wānaka Tourism together are hosting a session for local businesses where you will be able to listen to and engage with speakers from four very different local organisations as they talk about their journeys towards zero waste.
From Edgewater to Glendhu Bay Motor Camp, Federal Diner to RealNZ, these businesses have taken organisational steps to reduce their waste outputs with meaningful and tangible results. After a morning tea, you’ll then take part in a workshop session from which you will come away with action points to apply to your own businesses and become part of the change.
When you take air travel out of the equation, landfill is the single largest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing your waste is not just good for the environment, it’s good for your team, good for your brand and good for your bottom line.
Bring your colleagues, bring your friends, and start making real changes to your business on Wednesday, 20th September 10am-12pm at The Wānaka Community Hub.
This workshop is supported by the QLDC Zero Waste District Programme.
