Measuring On-Farm Natural Capital: A field day in the northern Midlands

Step into the field and learn how to identify, assess and enhance natural capital on your farm. This hands-on field day offers practical demonstrations, tools, and guidance from leading organisations and landholders actively working with natural capital approaches. 

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:

• Site visit to The Quoin - an iconic property at the heart of the Midlands biodiversity hotspot. 

• Demonstrations of techniques for measuring biodiversity, soil health, and ecosystem services. 

• Hear from: 

  • Matt Taylor, Ecotec Environmental – documenting landscape and soil health in an environmental account 

  • Lisa Miller, Wedgetail Foundation, The Quoin – biodiversity and conservation in practice 

  • Dr Josie Kelman Enviro-Dynamics – case study of ecological monitoring tools and techniques

  • Peer learning and networking with like-minded landholders 

  • Direct insights into market readiness and environmental stewardship 

This workshop follows an NRM North webinar on 17 June, on the concepts and frameworks of natural capital, and for some concepts, there will be an assumption of prior knowledge. It is expected that landholders attending this workshop have attended the webinar, or watched the content of the session via the webinar recording.
