Meat-free Meal

Event description

Can we really eat better for the planet? Farming for meat, dairy and other animal products generates more emissions than growing plants for food. Studies show that reducing our global consumption of meat and animal products could reduce food-system emissions significantly. This doesn't mean we all need to go vegetarian or vegan overnight, but making small changes at an individual level may make a difference. Take one small step to save the planet by replacing one of your regular meals with a meat-free meal.

In this hands-on cooking class, Oreen will teach you to make a nutritious Indian lentil curry. This recipe can be customised in dozens of ways by adjusting spices according to your taste, and adding almost any in-season, frozen, tinned or dried vegetables that you like. This is a protein-packed meal with ingredients that are inexpensive and easy to source.

Saturday 25 May from 3-6pm at Gribblehirst Hub

This is a free cooking class limited to 12 participants. All registered participants will receive a complimentary ingredients package thanks to Aotearoa Sustainability Group (ASG).
