Creative Industries & Screen and Media Skills for VET Trainers
Join ReadCloudVET and SAE University College Perth for a hands-on professional learning day for VET-in-Schools Creative Industries and Screen and Media trainers. Led by SAE's industry experts, the day is built around three practical sessions covering cinematography, 2D digital animation and post-production.
Trainers will build their own technical skills, take new techniques back into the classroom and maintain the industry currency required to meet regulatory standards.
Units of Competency Addressed
The sessions align with CUA20225 Certificate II in Creative Industries and CUA31020 Certificate III in Screen and Media, including:
CUACAM211 Assist with basic camera shoots
CUAPOS211 Perform basic vision and sound editing
CUAANM301 Create 2D digital animations
CUADIG311 Prepare video assets
Event Details
Morning tea and lunch are provided.
All attendees will receive a Professional Learning Certificate of Attendance, which can contribute to your VET industry currency and ongoing professional learning requirements.

Arrival and Registration
Registration opens at SAE University College Perth, with tea and coffee served on arrival.
- 9:00 am - 10:45 am
Session 1: Cinematography Fundamentals
An introduction to camera operation, shot composition, framing, movement and lighting, with practical techniques for capturing engaging video content.
- 10:45 am - 11:15 am
Morning Tea
Tea, coffee and light refreshments are provided.
- 11:15 am - 1:00 pm
Session 2: Digital Animation
Trainers will create simple 2D animations using industry-standard workflows, covering keyframes, motion principles, timing and visual storytelling.
- 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm
Lunch
Lunch is provided.
- 1:45 pm - 3:30 pm
Session 3: Post-Production and Video Delivery
A practical session on editing vision and sound, applying basic effects, managing assets and exporting content for different platforms and audiences.
