Media Pride: Pride in Politics

We're heading to NSW Parliament House for our next quarterly event, a first for Media Pride, and a fitting venue for the theme.

This one's about politics: we'll be digging into where LGBTQIA+ law in Australia stands today, and hearing from queer people who've worked in and around politics about what it's really like navigating that world. Expect a frank conversation about progress, setbacks, and what's still to fight for.

Anton Enus made his television debut as a presenter in September 1986. For the past 27 years he has been with SBS World News

Kate Doak is an investigative, political and sports journalist, who previously worked with 10 News. She broke major political stories with LGBTI+ allies like Hugh Riminton and Peter van Onselen.

Alexander Lewis is a state political reporter for the ABC, appearing on television, radio and online.

Jonathon 'J.Mo' Moran is Australia's authority on all things entertainment, from film to TV, music and everything in between as Chief Entertainment Writer/Editor at The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph.

Moderator: The Hon. Penny Sharpe MLC: Penny Sharpe was first elected to the NSW Legislative Council in October 2005. Penny is currently Labor's Minister for Climate Change, Energy, Heritage and the Environment, as well as the Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council. Penny's policy interests include public transport, the environment, education, women, LGBTI reform and e-democracy.

Dr Amanda Cohn is a bisexual cis woman and former GP based in Albury-Wodonga, and the Greens spokesperson for LGBTQIA+ in the NSW Parliament.
