Welcome to the transformational ceremony of crafting your own animal skin medicine drum. It is a weekend supported by universal spiritual teachings, a journey within the shamanic cosmology of the Four Winds, to reflect upon and consider our private walk with Spirit along the sacred path of Awakening. The medicine gift of the drum is to guide humanity into a higher level of self-awareness (consciousness), the activating of our light body beyond separation.

Each stage of the crafting process is significant holding insights into our connection with our self and the world around us, as well as healing ready to be addressed. The Drum being an ancient spirit finds it's way into our lives at pivotal moments, often when we are standing at the threshold of change or an upgrade of our light body. It is both a teacher and guide along the trail of wholeness. The healing energies it comes to share profoundly support the level of stability and harmony we feel, wholeness and coherence being it's primary gifts to us - there is no doubt that the drum is a vehicle of personal power and responsibility.

Drum making carries more significance than one can imagine, both nourishing and challenging, calling forward things to be acknowledged, energies to be put down, new direction to be received, the drawing closer to our ancestors and helping spirits, appreciating the Land as our Mother, honouring the generosity of all that is given to us. These days help us sit in some wholesome teachings which encourage us to walk tall and put the best interests of our living world first. It is a day of reciprocity and respect and remembering Life is sacred.

This is a big weekend, please be prepared by having an early night before you arrive. It is good advice to be ready for the experience, to have your intentions clear and heart in communion with your drum awaiting to be brought into form.

We are crafting with your choice of animal skin: Kangaroo Goat or Red Deer. Your frame is hand made by Bastian specifically for you - there are many different frame shapes to choose from and sizes. The frames are hand made from Cedar and carry the energies of your personal bloodline, your ancestors - those souls gone before and those ones yet to come. Bastian makes your frame with intention and connection to your kin and shares any ancestral communication or healing that is given to her during your drum frames construction. There is much loving work and preparation done long before you arrive at the crafting ceremony. All drum makers are asked to bring an offering to the Land to give thanks for the animal and tree we are taking from it.

Drum makers choose from Kangaroo, Goar or Deer skin (n.b. deer skin is an additional $50)

Drum makers choose their personal drum frame shape: round, 7 sided, 8 sided, 9 sided, 12 sided, 16 sided. Further information regarding drum frame shape and size will be given upon registration.

Drum skins can be soaked in henna (red, purple, brown or black) if desired (n.b henna soaking is an additional $20)

Upon registration and paying your deposit you will receive an email from Bastian with the information to fine tune the selection for your unique drum.

Bastian McPhee has been working with the drum for twenty years and an explorer of the deeper dimensions for thirty five years. She is an experienced and grounded guide and teacher in earth-honouring spirituality and shamanism.
