Event description

Lara Estrella and Fellipe Abdalla are excited to be coming together to offer the community a special night of music and prayer.

We invite you to join this evening of medicine music in connection with the healing powers and joy that these prayers bring to our hearts.

We will be sharing songs from the Brazilian traditional lineages that we both study. Songs from the forest from the Yawanawá and Huni Kuin indigenous people, from Umbanda and the forces of the Orixás, and other lineages, paying our deepest respects and honour to these traditions.

We invite you to come along with your presence, your voices and your instruments (you are welcome to bring instruments).

We will commune with cacao to open the hearts and gather in intentional prayer.

About the facilitators:

Lara Estrella is a holistic therapist and a deeply devoted student of ceremonial practices from different indigenous and spiritual traditions from Brazil. She is passionate about co-creating sacred spaces for healing through song, music, prayer and ancient wisdom practices. She loves witnessing the power that these prayers have in opening the heart, the voice and joy in people along with their unique artistic expressions.

Fellipe Abdalla is a music lover and a musician since a very young age and started learning to play music instruments. For him, music has a really important role in society and in the development of humankind, in how we socialise and how we express feelings with a language that goes beyond words and it's able to communicate with everyone no matter where the person comes from.

Over the years, Fellipe has been learning more and more about Music as Medicine and how music is able to heal our minds, bodies and spirits. From his acoustic guitar and his voice, to his synthesisers and electronic sounds, or when he jumps in the DJ decks, the sound waves are his way of connection with the Great Spirit.
