EPIC Families,
Join us for a field trip on Wednesday, October 30th for a field trip to the Medicine Park Aquarium and Natural Sciences Center in Medicine Park. The aquarium is known for showing off a variety of native Oklahoma fish, reptiles and even birds. If you have never ventured to this aquarium you are in for a special day. Our students will find out more information about Animal Adaptations through presentation at the beginning of the field trip. After exploring the aquarium we will head across the street to the historic town of Medicine Park for lunch! ITINERARY: We will begin our day by meeting outside the front doors of the aquarium. Next we will be apart of a presentation about Animal Adaptations and pet a live tortoise! After this families are free to enjoy the inside and outside of the aquarium as long as you would like.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: Upon arrival, please check in with an Epic Family Engagement staff member who will be in Epic gear and located inside the front entrance to receive a copy of the schedule. We’d also love to see you in your Epic gear!

- 12:30-1:00 Lunchtime Meet in downtown Medicine Park at the park located on the West end of downtown along the pond. Or bring a lunch and eat at the picnic tables located on the front porch of the aquarium! (Lunch is optional and families will bring their own sack lunch or can enjoy one of the many local restaurants in town!)
Our field trips are student centered. We ask that you help us by allowing students to be toward the front of the tour and room. Parents and caregivers may be asked to be toward the back of the room so as to not obstruct the view for students.
POLICIES: This Epic field trip is only free for Epic students. You will register for a ticket using Humanitix which will hold your spot for the field trip as a reservation. Parents, please register yourself and each of your Epic students who will be participating. This enables the school and the location to staff and plan appropriately. Our field trips do have a maximum capacity. Therefore, we ask that when registering your students, you only register Epic enrolled Pre-K through 12th grade students so that the spots are filled by our students.
Students cannot be dropped off to attend a field trip without a parent or guardian. You will need your student’s Epic ID number and teacher’s name when signing up for the field trip in Humanitix.
This is a public event and photographs and or video may be taken during the activity. If you prefer your student to not have a photograph or video taken please let our Epic staff know during check in.
SENSORY BAGS: Sensory bags will be available to check out for use at this event. Upon arrival, see any Epic Family Engagement team member to check a bag out and return all sensory bags to an Epic Family Engagement team member before leaving the event. There is a limited supply of sensory bags.
CANCELLATIONS: As a reminder, if you sign up to come but are unable to make it, please cancel your reservation using your Humanitix confirmation email. This will open up spots for other families. Steps Here: Go to your Humanitix Confirmation Email. Click on "Manage Order", then Click "Refund/Cancel." Select ALL or manually select the tickets you need to cancel. Click the "Review" button, then Click the "Confirm" button.
What is the inclement Weather Plan? If we have inclement weather, we will send out communication by email through Humanitix to let you know if the field trip has been canceled.
