Description

We usually associate romances with stories of people falling in love. In medieval romances however, it's often the relationships between men that really matter as knights navigate a world full of kings, friends, and rivals.

Will true love win out in the end?

Is it possible for a knight to balance a marriage with his professional relationships?

What about the women's relationships?

Join us to find out at this talk by Dr Marta Cobb.

Marta Cobb is a lecturer in Medieval Studies in the School of History at the University of Leeds. She is interested in female mystics, medievalism, and medieval stories about the supernatural.

The Leeds Library is one of Leeds' oldest institutions, founded in 1768 and moving to its current home in 1808. We have long been a hub of learning and community in the heart of Leeds. Our main entrance into our foyer, with stairs up to the main library room, is located between Co-op and Ann Summers, and our accessible entrance with elevator is between Ann Summers and Bird and Blend. This event will be held in our Events Space on the first floor, adjacent to the main library room.
