Transforming Ourselves, Transforming Our World: A Weekend Meditation Retreat with Anam Thubten

Event description

Friday Evening Public Talk 7:00-9:00 PM, open to all, by donation

Saturday and Sunday Retreat 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM, registration required

There are four important aspects of meditation: self-inquiry, mindful attention, open awareness and lovingkindness. By practicing these, we can let go of negative mental patterns and expand our heart and mind, bringing about joy, peace and inner freedom. Not only will we be transformed within but our inner transformation can have a positive impact on our world. Anam Thubten will teach and guide participants in developing these four aspects of meditation and share Buddhist wisdom on working with our thoughts and emotions.

Anam Thubten grew up in Tibet and at an early age began to practice in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He is the founder and spiritual advisor of Dharmata Foundation, teaching widely in the US, Europe and Asia. His many books include Embracing Each Moment, No Self, No Problem, and The Citadel of Awareness. Through sharing his wisdom and personal experience on the spiritual path, Anam Thubten brings alive the timeless teachings of Buddhism.
