Event description

FLW is proud to present our first show of 2025 with the new original play Medusa, written and directed by Bronte Lemaire.

Medusa
is an adaptation of the Greek myth of Perseus and Medusa, but follows Medusa as the central figure. Medusa is crass but entertaining, and along with six others, is a worshipper of Athena. After a long night of stressful and high tensioned festivities, Poseidon sexually assaults her. Medusa is cast out by Athena and cursed to turn anyone she looks at to stone, but her fellow worshippers follow her. This includes Stheno, her loyal confidant, Euryale, a new and naive member, the troublemaking triplets Deino, Enyo, and Pemphredo, and Thoosa, who can’t decide whether Medusa is telling the truth as she’s far from the perfect victim. As Medusa battles with her trauma and becomes a danger to both herself and others, Poseidon and Athena enlist the help of a young boy named Perseus to kill her.

The show has the following content warnings: Sexual Assault, Violence, Death, Strong Language.

The show will also contain strobe lighting and haze effects as part of the performance.

Both the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon performance will feature closed captioning (CC).
