Whether you’re brand new to junk journaling or already hoard paper scraps and washi tape, this book will gently guide you through a year of playful, imperfect creativity:

CREATE with practical steps to try new crafty techniques in your junk journal
You'll find heaps of fun, original ideas for what to include in your scrapbook, as well as tips on how to brainstorm and source materials. The 52 projects are built to inspire you – you'll create a portrait of you, celebrate your favourite snacks, play with textures and colour palettes, send yourself future notes, reflect on meaningful holidays and be encouraged to use your precious sticker stash...
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Martina Calvi is an author, artist, and self-proclaimed ‘sentimental crafty girl’ sparking a modern crafty renaissance. With her viral junk journaling projects, books, and analogue approach to creativity, she has revived a love of crafts in the internet era and inspired a global crafty community.
Her debut book, The Art of Memory Collecting (Penguin Random House), was dubbed by Tiktok as ‘the crafty bible’ and positioned her as the voice of a new crafty era. What started as hand-cut stickers in her childhood bedroom grew into Martina’s Tiny Store- a cult indie stationery brand now stocked worldwide in retailers like Free People and Urban Outfitters- igniting a wave of creative nostalgia that has inspired hundreds of thousands to journal and craft again.
Martina’s influence extends far beyond her books and products. Through Instagram callouts, she’s helped thousands of creative souls find pen pals, swap snail mail, and start their own junk journaling meetups around the globe. Her sold-out global workshops and intimate “scrap n yap” nights have become gatherings where fellow journalers and crafters find new friendships offline. Through Martina’s Tiny Store, she champions independent artists and personally sponsors grassroots craft events, ensuring the culture she’s building stays real, heartfelt, and accessible.
With over 450,000 engaged followers and features in Vogue, ABC, RUSSH, and Frankie, Martina is now preparing for a global book tour for her second title, A Year of Junk Journaling (October 2025), where she’ll celebrate with her community in London, Paris, New York City and more.
At the heart of it all is Martina’s belief that in a world racing toward automation, ‘IRL’ community and handmade connection matter more than ever.
