Meet Angus MacRaild - Decadent Drinks Independent Bottler
Angus MacRaild is one of the whisky world's most respected writers, independent bottlers and whisky personalities. A regular contributor to the legendary Whiskyfun.com alongside Serge Valentin, Angus has built a reputation for his exceptional palate, encyclopaedic whisky knowledge, sharp wit and love of old-school Scotch whisky.
Angus is the founder of Decadent Drinks, the independent bottling company behind cult-favourite ranges including Decadent Drams, Whiskyland, Equinox & Solstice, and Old Orkney. He also works as an expert tasting panellist for The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) and regularly stirs the pot with his hilarious whisky satire blog, Whisky Sponge.
When he's not writing about or bottling whisky, Angus is busy helping build Kythe Distillery, one of Scotland's newest distilleries. Kythe is dedicated to reviving traditional, hands-on whisky production, with no automation, direct-fired stills, long fermentations, heritage grains and traditional yeast strains. The ambition? To recreate the rich, characterful styles of Scotch whisky from the 1960s to 1980s.
Known for his entertaining stories, infectious enthusiasm and refreshingly irreverent approach to whisky, Angus is as much fun to listen to as his whiskies are to drink.
Join us for a rare opportunity to taste some extraordinary whiskies with the man behind the bottles.
