Join acclaimed chairmaker and researcher Dr Mike Epworth for a fascinating artist talk about Local Ground, the latest exhibition at Bankfoot House.

Drawing on more than 45 years of chairmaking experience and extensive research into Australian furniture traditions, Dr Epworth will explore the historical significance of William Andrew Grigor’s work and how historical objects continue to inspire contemporary makers today.

Discover the research behind the project, the process of creating new works, and how furniture can tell powerful stories about local history, identity and place, followed by a lively Q&A session with Dr Epworth.

Afterwards, enjoy the exhibition featuring newly made works constructed from locally sourced and salvaged materials, inspired by furniture held in the Bankfoot House collection and join a tour of the historic house.
