What does it take to make ambitious work regionally and take it to the world?

Join Luke Murphy, artist and founder of Attic Projects and Gwen Van Spÿk, producer, for a conversation about making, producing and touring work from a regional base.

The conversation will be convened by Northern Rivers-based dance artist and producer, Philip Channells, bringing a local perspective and creating space to explore the opportunities and challenges of building a creative practice regionally.

What will we explore?

• Making ambitious work outside major cultural centres

• The artist-producer relationship

• Building sustainable creative practices

• How place and community shape the work

• Developing international relationships and touring opportunities

• Taking regionally made work to international audiences

Luke and Gwen will share insights from their ongoing work with Attic Projects, including Volcano and Scorched Earth, both presented at Brisbane Festival.

Who is it for?

Artists, producers, arts workers, presenters, independent practitioners and anyone interested in making work regionally and building connections internationally.
