Meet the author - Kathy Lette

Kathy Lette will be in conversation with Karen Hardy on Kathy's new novel The Revenge Club, a subversive, irreverent revenge romp.

Best friends Matilda, Penny, Sofia and Jo are approaching their sixties with flair until, one by one, their bubbles are burst. Matilda, a bestselling novelist, is dropped by her publisher; Penny is cut from her prime-time TV show in favour of her male co-host; Sofia's acting agent can only offer her menopause adverts and Jo... well Jo realised it's still a man's world a while ago.

Confronted by a society that believes they're all past their amuse-by dates, the friends vow to face their non-entity crises together. Each has been trampled on by men, so as the saying goes if you can't beat them, join them. Let the revenge games begin!

Kathy Lette first achieved succès de scandale as a teenager with the novel Puberty Blues, which was made into a major film and a TV mini-series. She has written 20 books which have been translated into 19 languages. Kathy, who divides her time between Sydney and London, is an autodidact (a word she taught herself) but has three honorary doctorates. She is a TV presenter, newspaper and magazine columnist and also an ambassador for Their World, the National Autistic Society and Ambitious About Autism.

Karen Hardy has worked for The Canberra Times for more than 30 years, telling stories of a city that is about much more than politics. From sport to lifestyle, from food and wine to education, Karen is grateful she's found a career where she gets to ask lots of questions.
