Richmond Meet the Candidates 2025
Event description
Get ready to Meet the Candidates: 28 April, 2025
Candidates are getting ready in the marginal federal seat of Richmond for the 2025 live broadcast Richmond Meet the Candidates forum hosted by Echo Publications and Bay FM Community Radio.
Monday 28th April from 6-8pm in the Byron Theatre: mark your diaries, set your notifications, or start manifesting.
Incumbent Labor candidate Justine Elliot has represented Richmond for more than two decades, but it’s a marginal seat and one of three The Greens are focussed intently on, with candidate Mandy Nolan campaigning relentlessly since she first stood in 2022.
Kimberly Hone is running again for The Nationals, having won a seat on the Tweed Shire Council in 2024, and another seven candidates have nominated to run.
Two Independents, One Nation, Trumpet of Patriots, Legalise Cannabis and Gerard Rennick’s People First are all to appear on Richmond ballot forms in 2025.
This free, live-broadcast event is a chance for you to hear each candidate introduce themselves and answer questions from the public.
Members of the community are to be invited to put questions to the panel; if your community group or cause has a question related to federal policy, please email communitynewsroom@mail.com with subject: ‘Richmond Meet the Candidates’.
Be sure to include your full name, which town or village you live in within the Richmond electorate, the group or interest you represent and your phone number.
