This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

I am Kaurna, I come from 2,500 generations of Grandmothers who have protected and nurtured family, community and country, I honour them by learning their lessons.

Come sit with me on country, learn and develop a life skills of weaving, as my grandmothers did.

  • learn how to start a weave, this is the hardest part
  • how to add  material
  • how to change your thread
  • how to build 3 dimensional shape
  • how to finish off

I love to create an environment where people feel comfortable and relaxed. Where conversations and cultural stories are shared.

Leave knowing you have a new life skill that brings you peace and joy,  and maybe leave with having made a new friend.

Your woven item will always hold memories to this time, place, conversation,  positive emotion and well being, all of these will be woven into your piece subconsciously every stitch.

Located in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens - enter via the Friends' Gates on Plane Tree Drive and follow the signs!
