The Humans Are Dead (!?): Design at the Interface of Robots, People and New Products
Date: Wednesday, 8th March, 2023
Time: 5:00pm - 7:30pm
Venue: Priority One
The BOP Design and Innovation Meetup is underway for 2023, with a session focussed on robotics and automation that we’re super excited to bring to you.
We know these technologies are transforming industries and workplaces, but what does that mean for innovation and design? How will robotics impact our approaches to creating new products and services – and vice versa?
We are lucky to have two awesome presenters:
- Carl Menary is a Senior Industrial Designer at Robotics Plus. Trained in industrial design, he cut his teeth working in consultancies around the globe before coming back to raise a family and help kiwi companies take on the world. For the last 5 years he has been working as design leader and a senior industrial designer at Robotics Plus, a world leading robotics company based right here in the Western Bay.
- Nick Pickering is a Lecturer at University of Waikato. Nick has 25 years of industry experience across the UK, Sweden, Germany, Australia & NZ), before moving into a research career spanning automation, navigation, sensing and digital twins. Nick and his team won the Prototype Award at the 2022 Fieldays Innovation Awards for their Kiwifruit Human Assisted Harvesting project - e-Bin project.
Carl and Nick are working at the bleeding edge of application of robotics and other automation technologies in the field. They’ll be sharing their own observations and reflections, and we’ll also have plenty of time for your questions and input, and discussion.
We’re pleased to host you here at Priority One, with some snacks and refreshing beverages, and the chance to connect with other great people around our innovation community.
Share it around, grab some friends and we'll see you there!
Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Please RSVP by Monday 6th March
