Have you been looking for a way to be truly connected in your performance every time? Imagine being able to create genuine emotion and truthful responses in the moment, not by forcing them, but by truly listening, connecting and allowing your scene partner to affect you.

The Meisner technique is a system and a step-by-step process that will build the foundation of your acting craft and a tool you can count on time and time again to create a truthful, engaging performance not sometimes but every time.

Learn to access and harness your emotions and instincts to create a truly compelling performance.

This is a rare opportunity for Western Australian actors to undertake a long-form Meisner Technique training program in Perth with Australia's leading teacher, Melbourne based, Justin Lehmann.

PROGRAM AT A GLANCE

Across six intensive weekends and approximately 72 hours of training, actors will progress from the foundations of the Meisner Technique through to applying the work to text.

6 intensive weekends | 6 weeks apart | Over 6 months | 2027
2 days | 12 hours per weekend
72 hours of training
Approximate investment: $3,100 per person (TBC)
Payment plans available

Exact dates will be confirmed once sufficient participant numbers are reached.

WHY LONG-FORM MEISNER TRAINING?

Many actors have experienced repetition or individual elements of Meisner, but fewer have had the opportunity to train through the technique as a progressive and layering system, where each stage builds on the last.

The Perth program is equivalent in length to Justin Lehmann Studio’s three-month, 72-hour Melbourne program, delivered over six intensive weekends.

WHAT CAN MEISNER DO FOR YOUR ACTING?

How would you genuinely react if the circumstances of the scene were happening to you in real life and recreate it?

How do you create a performance so truthful and connected that the audience doesn’t simply watch it, they feel it with you?

Imagine you’re playing the character, but the response is yours, your truth, your instinct, your genuine reaction to what is happening in the moment.

Meisner Technique trains actors to get out of their heads, stop overthinking, truly listen and instinctually allow their scene partner to affect them, creating a truthful response in the moment.

Rather than planning responses or manufacturing emotion, actors learn to work moment by moment with greater spontaneity, connection and instinct.

Meisner training can help develop:

Stronger listening and connection
Greater spontaneity and instinct
More truthful emotional responses
Freedom from overthinking
Greater trust in your impulses
The ability to stay present and connected take after take
A tool you can rely on every time

WHO IS THIS TRAINING FOR?

New to Meisner? No previous experience is required. Learn the technique from the foundations up through a structured, progressive system.

Already trained in Meisner? Deepen your understanding, reconnect with the work and build on previous Meisner technique training.

Whether you are newer to acting or already working professionally, the focus is on strengthening your craft and developing a technique you can return to throughout your career.

THIS IS NOT A ONE-OFF WORKSHOP

This is sustained actor training designed to build the technique step by step and ultimately apply it to text.

The goal is to develop a way of working that becomes instinctive, something you can carry into auditions, self-tapes, screen work, stage work and scripted scenes.
