Asia Society Australia’s annual gala is back and bigger than ever for 2026!
We are thrilled to announce that the Melbourne Asia Game Changer Awards will take place on 13 November 2026 at 1 Hotel Melbourne.
EARLY BIRD TICKETS CLOSE ON 30 JUNE 2026.
This year’s Icon Award recipient will be Melissa Leong, a first-generation Singaporean Australian presenter, author, food critic, and travel journalist whose influence has helped redefine how Asian Australian stories are seen and celebrated in mainstream media. One of the country’s most prominent media figures, Melissa has championed greater visibility for Asian Australian identity, food and culture on screen and inspired a new generation to see themselves reflected in public life.
We are also delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with 1 Hotel Melbourne, which will host this year’s Gala. Designed as a distinctive sustainable luxury, 1 Hotel is a perfect backdrop for MAGC, offering a modern setting for a contemporary celebration of Asian food, culture, and creativity. As part of this new partnership, the hotel will also provide an exclusive accommodation package for MAGC attendees (see the FAQ section to learn more about the offer - exclusive early bird rate till 12 June ).

- How can I nominate someone for the Awards?
Public nominations for the Awards will open in mid-2026. Please keep an eye out on our initiative page for updates and further information on categories, selection process and more. Click here.
- Do I need to have all guest details confirmed when purchasing a table?
No. You may purchase a table without providing all guest details at the time of booking. Once your order is confirmed, final guest information (including dietary requirements) must be submitted by 23 October 2026 via email to programaustralia@asiasociety.org.
- How can I access the 1 Hotel discount accommodation package?
This exclusive accommodation package at 1 Hotel Melbourne is available to Gala attendees for the night of 13 November only. To access the discounted rate, please email programaustralia@asiasociety.org with your Gala ticket order number, and we will provide you with the booking link.
A limited allocation of 20 rooms will be available at an exclusive early-bird rate on a first come, first served basis until 12 June 2026. Guests are encouraged to secure their Gala tickets and accommodation early to avoid missing out. Following 31 May 2026, rooms will continue to be available at a discounted rate, subject to availability. - Are Asia Society Australia members entitled to an additional discount?
If you/your organisation are a corporate/individual member for Asia Society Australia, you may be entitled to member discount tickets to the gala.
