😷 Feeling sniffly?

If you're currently unwell, we ask that you hold off from attending. Some of our balfolk dances are contact dances, so we'll be holding hands or dancing face-to-face. If you have a cough or runny nose, we ask that you help protect our immunocompromised babes and boogie at home.

Tickets can be transferred onto any future dance class <3

Rarely are our events cancelled, but do check our instagram stories for updates!

See you there!

FAQs

  • Getting there?

The Coracle is a community hall attached to the back of the Fairfield Uniting Church. Please enter via the garden gate on Duncan Street, and you'll find us just beyond the garden itself.

If you've found the rainbow steps, continue around to the left of the church to find the garden gate. We usually open the gate around 7:15pm

There is ample street and local parking at the nearby Station Street shopping centre (access via Gillies Street) and at the Fairfield Train Station (350m walk). For trains, we're on the Hurstbridge line, as well as bus routes 567 and 609. The 508 is a little further, but still just a 10-minute walk away.

  • What should I wear?

Wear whatever you're comfortable dancing in. There is no dress code but we recommend a clean shirt and a low-perfume deodorant. There are no special shoes needed - you can even dance in socks! Some people wear leather-soled dress shoes, some dancers like a split-soled shoe, while others wear trainers. It's up to you!

  • Can I come if I have never danced before?

Yes, we'd love to have you! All the dances we've chosen for classes are beginner friendly. Everyone here is very friendly and welcoming and all the dances/steps will be instructed, we're here to help!
