Self Tying for Self Care

Eve X has been playing with rope for 9 years as an aerialist and switch.

As well as exhibitionism and connection, Eve also uses rope as a personal somatic practise, to connect with self, move emotions and manage chronic illness.

Eve will be sharing her simple, intuitive rope style for self care, including basic safety information and simple knot work. Eve will also incorporate Tantric tenets of breath, sound and movement to facilitate your journey.

Whilst rope with another human can be beautiful, it can also be overwhelming when we’re trying to learn about our own bodies. People with intimacy trauma may enjoy self tying as a way to explore their own sensuality without complex power dynamics.

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners. It is also suitable for more established rope practitioners who wish to deconstruct their practise and spend time with simplicity.

WHERE? VICTORIA / Private Preston venue close to PT, exact address provided to ticket holders the day before the event with details of parking and transport.

OUR TICKETING STRUCTURE

We have added a pay-what-you-can/want ticket - to help support the community and those who may not be able to afford the full price ticket of $60, this is an option where you can pay what you can from $40. There is no upper limit on this ticket, so if you feel like subsidising those who purchase 'lower priced tickets, or giving a little extra to the facilitator to support us, this is your option! 

We believe in both accessibility for the community, as well as making sure our facilitators are paid appropriately for their erotic / intellectual labours, so this is our solution to hold space for both with a minimum of fuss!

ABOUT EVE X

Eve X is a sexuality educator, pleasure activist and erotic artist with a background in academia and a passion for food, sex, knowledge and nature. Founder of the Australian School of Sexuality and Sacred Primal Arts, Eve has held or hosted hundreds of sex education spaces. She is the curator of the Australian School of Sexuality Festival (ASSFest) and affiliated Erotic Arts Festival.

Eve is an established aerial shibari artist, creating multimodal ritual theatre with life partner Sai Jaiden Lillith as Infernal Desire Machine regularly in Melbourne and Sydney. Eve and Sai are also respected artporn directors, with Canto V films regularly screening at film festivals globally.

Eve lives, creates, and holds events in both Melbourne and Sydney, and is co-owner of A Space in Sydney.
