Event description

It's your turn Melbourne! Meet your peers across the digital inclusion space in our collaborative in-person meetup!

Good Things Foundation invites members of the Be Connected Network, including digital mentors, tutors and program organisers to this free event at Donkey Wheel House.

Spots are limited, please register your spot now to avoid disappointment. Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Program:

  • Speed-meet your colleagues with our start of the day icebreaker
  • Delicious nibbles for morning tea and catered lunch
  • Updates from the Good Things Foundation team
  • Workshop A: Creating accessible digital skills sessions
    • Do you know the basic principals for ensuring your learning content is accessible? Learn and share tips with your peers and take part in small group discussions to help identify how you can easily adapt your support to be inclusive for a range of disabilities.
  • Workshop B: Reflecting on being a digital mentor
    • How would you rate your teaching skills out of 5? What about your patience and listening skills? This workshop will have you pondering your strengths and identifying areas where you may need some help. We'll also have you thinking about your core values and experiences that inform your digital mentor practice.

FAQ:

How long does the event go for?

Event registrations begin at 9:00am for a 9:30am program start. The event will conclude at 12:30pm with a catered lunch, stick around to network with your peers and have a chat with us.

I can't make it to this event. Can I join online, and will it be recorded?

This event is in-person only. If you want to join us online, you should register for our Online Meetups in November instead.

Attendees at our Sydney Meetup said they really appreciated the opportunity to meet peers in a physical environment. If you can make it in-person we think you'll have a great time!

Please do not attend this event if you are unwell or experiencing signs/symptoms of COVID-19. Masks are not mandatory but are recommended in situations where you are not able to socially distance. Hand sanitising stations will be available at the event.
