WHAT TO EXPECT

Brimbank Park and it's counterpart Horseshoe Bend Park is a scenic, nature-filled reserve located in Melbourne’s western suburbs, offering a peaceful escape from the city bustle. The park features diverse landscapes, including expansive open spaces, woodlands, wetlands, and grasslands, making it a popular destination for both relaxation and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy walking, cycling, and picnicking along well-maintained trails, with the park’s picturesque views of the surrounding area, including the Maribyrnong River, providing a stunning backdrop.

The tracks that will be walked for this event will be both the Brimbank Park Shorter Loop track and the Horseshoe Bend Park walk, totalling around 7km in distance (give or take depending on pace on the day). The two trails combined offers 82m in elevation so this walk is fantastic for all fitness levels and should be a wonderfully social day out!

Altogether both trails should take around 2.5 hours to complete.

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

MEETING LOCATION: Brimbank Park Play Space carpark, Park Dr, Keilor East VIC 3033

MEETING TIME: Arrive 9:30am SHARP to meetup and check in for a 10:00am sharp Departure

NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to this event getting away on time. Participants not checked in by 9:50am may be left behind and forfeit their ticket.

PARKING: Available at Brimbank Park

CARPOOLING: Need help finding a ride to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group.

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 2-3L)

- Snacks and food for the hike

- Money for pub/café afterwards.

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable suitable walking shoes

- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing

This trip will run from 10:00am to around 1.30pm including a stop at a pub/cafe afterwards.
