WHAT TO EXPECT

The Maribyrnong River Trail is a fun and easy hike for beginners and newbies!

The Track is an approximate 6km loop that traverses both sides of the Maribyrnong River and should take about 2.5 hours to complete depending on our pace.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event.

The best part about the Maribyrnong River in Melbourne is its rich combination of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and historical significance. The river winds through a variety of landscapes, from lush wetlands and parks to industrial areas, offering a diverse experience for visitors.

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: The back of Poynton’s Nursery Carpark

Meeting Time: Arrive 6am for a strict 6:15am Departure.

Parking options: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 6:15am may be left behind.
CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the walk, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 1-2L)

- Snack food for the hike

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable Walking Shoes

- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing (check weather the night before).

- Hat / Sunglasses & Sun Protection

FINISH

The Walk should take around 1.5-2 hours with some small breaks to enjoy the scenery as well as a coffee at Poynton’s Nursery afterwards.
