ABOUT THIS EVENT

Join Adam, our newest Social Walk hike leader as we visit the gorgeous Mount Lofty in the Warrandyte State Park, the gateway to the Yarra Ranges.

Our Social Walks are a great way to get outside, get your body moving and make some amazing new friends along the way!

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Mt Lofty Loop is a stunning trail that takes you the summit of Mt Lofty. From the top you will have panoramic views of the Yarra Ranges, Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra River. The Mt Lofty Loop is around 8km long and includes around 150m of elevation. It is a great moderate hike for beginners and experienced hikers alike.

The Warrandyte State Park also packed full of native Australian wildlife, you'd very unlucky plenty of Kangaroos and Wallabies. On good day, you may also see Wombats, Echidnas, Owls and even a Platypus! 

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event.

Once the hike is finished we will walk to a nearby café for a much needed coffee!

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: Wittons Reserve Carpark (42 Reserve Rd, Wonga Park VIC 3115)

Meeting Time: Arrive 9:30am for a strict 10:00am Departure.

Parking options: - There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.
NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 9:50am may be left behind.
CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 2L)

- Snack food for the walk if necessary 

- Money for the café afterwards

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable walking shoes

- Westher suitable clothing (check weather the night before) 

- Hat or Beanie

FINISH

The Hike should take around 1.5 - 2 hours with small breaks to enjoy some sightseeing and animal spotting. 

We will finish where we started where we can all head off to meat again for coffee at a local café (venue TBA).
