Join Social Walks head guide Adam as we make the trip down the Geelong Freeway to the picturesque coastal town of Ocean Grove located on the Bellarine Peninsula for an unforgettable 10km coastal hike right by the water to Barwon Heads!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Ocean Grove is a picturesque town situated on the southern end of the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, approximately 30 kilometers from Geelong. Known for its scenic beaches, rich history, and vibrant community, Ocean Grove offers a blend of natural beauty and plenty of cultural heritage.

The walk is easy in difficulty and is an out and back trail that runs alongside the waters of Bass Strait. Also, bring bathers, snacks and plenty of water as we will stop along the hike to have a swim, play some fun beach games and enjoy the beautiful scenery before we make the journey back to the start point.

Once the hike is finished we will make our way to a nearby pub for food!

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: Portarlington Pier Carpark

Meeting Time: Arrive 10:00am for a strict 10:30am Departure.

Parking options: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.

NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 10:20am may be left behind.

CARPOOLING: Need help getting a lift to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 3L)

- Snacks and food for the walk

- Money for a meal afterwards

- Sunscreen

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable sturdy walking shoes

- Weather suitable clothing (check weather the night before)

- Hat

- Towel and bathers

FINISH

The day should take in total around 4.5 hours with small breaks in-between to enjoy the views plus the relaxation time by the water.

We will finish where we started.
