WHAT TO EXPECT

Portarlington is a picturesque town situated on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria, Australia, approximately 28 kilometers from Geelong. Known for its scenic beaches, rich history, and vibrant community, Portarlington offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The walk is easy in difficulty however the distance may be a challenge for some as it is a 15km out and back trail that runs alongside the waters of Port Phillip Bay. Also, bring bathers, snacks and plenty of water as we will stop to have a swim and relax at the halfway point (just past the indented head yacht club!) where we will swim, play some fun beach games and enjoy the beautiful scenery before we make the journey back to the start point.

Once the hike is finished we will make our way to a nearby pub in Portarlington for food!

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: Portarlington Pier Carpark

Meeting Time: Arrive 9:30am for a strict 10:00am Departure.

Parking options: There is plenty of free parking at the meeting location.

NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 9:50am may be left behind.

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 3L)

- Snacks and food for the walk

- Money for a meal afterwards

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable sturdy walking shoes

- Weather suitable clothing (check weather the night before)

- Hat

- Towel and bathers

FINISH

The day should take in total around 5 hours with small breaks in-between to enjoy the views plus the relaxation time by the water at the halfway point.

We will finish where we started where we can all head off to meet again for a food in Portarlington.
