WHAT TO EXPECT

The Royal Botanical Gardens walk is a fun and easy hike for beginners and newbies!

The Track is a 8 km loop, that's mostly flat with a few small hills that takes roughly 2.5-3 hours to complete depending on our pace.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event.

The Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne has some fantastic highlights including some great lookouts, plenty of kangaroos and of course, the beautifully designed Australian Gardens which showcase the local flora of Australia. Australian Garden is an award winning, contemporary, and stunningly landscaped garden that will blow you away the first time you see it.

After we finish the walk, we can drop into the Australian Garden Café for post hike coffee and lunch.

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: Main carpark of the Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne (enter via Botanic Drive, Cranbourne VIC 3977)

Meeting Time: Arrive between 9:30-9:45am for a 9:50am SHARP Departure.

PARKING: There is heaps of free parking at the Gardens.

NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not check-in by 9:45am may be left behind.

CARPOOLING: Need help finding a ride to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group.

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 1-2L)

- Snack food for the hike

- Money for lunch/drinks at the Australian Garden Cafe.

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable Walking Shoes

- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing (check weather the night before).

- Hat / Sunglasses & Sun Protection

FINISH

The Hike should take around 2.5-3 hours with small breaks to enjoy some sightseeing so we expect the walk to be finished around 1pm but please note that events can run over time.

We will finish back where we started around midday where we can gather for lunch at the on-site cafe.
