WHAT TO EXPECT

Embark on a delightful 4-5 km walk from the charming Port Melbourne to the bustling Docklands, taking in some of Melbourne’s best waterside views and iconic landmarks. This leisurely stroll offers a mix of seaside beauty, modern cityscapes, and vibrant waterfront precincts.

Start at Port Melbourne Beach, where you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful coastal views. Stroll along the Port Melbourne Foreshore to Station Pier, spotting ferries and enjoying the fresh sea breeze.

Follow the Bay Trail along the water’s edge, passing the stylish South Wharf with its cafes, galleries, and the impressive Melbourne Convention Centre. Continue along the trail, soaking in views of the bay and the city skyline as you approach the vibrant Docklands district.

As you enter Docklands, you’ll be greeted by modern architecture, the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, and lively areas like Victoria Harbour.

This walk is an ideal way to experience both the serenity of the bay and the energy of Melbourne's newest urban precinct!

We will aim to finish the walk around 9:30pm where you can head to the pub for a drink.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome to this event.

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

MEETING LOCATION: Port Melbourne Surf Club.

MEETING TIME: Arrive between 7:00pm - 7:15pm where we will commence walking at 7:20pm SHARP to catch the sunset.

NOTE: Arriving on time is critical to the Walk getting away on time. Participants not checked-in by 7:15pm may be left behind.

PARKING: There is paid parking out the front of the Port Melbourne surf club as well as free parking if available on Beaconsfield Parade over the road.

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 1-2L)

- Snack food for the hike

- Money for café afterwards/during the walk (optional)

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable Walking Shoes

- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing (check weather on the day).

- Hat / Beanie

FINISH

The Hike should take around an hour and a half with small breaks to enjoy some sightseeing.

The walk starts and finishes in the same location.
