ABOUT THIS EVENT

It's time for a BRAND NEW camping event with Dan at one of Victorias best kept secrets - The stunning Walhalla historical town located in the mountains!! 

Numbers are strictly capped for this event so grab your ticket quickly if you are keen to join us!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Brunton's Bridge Campground is a favored camping destination located south of Walhalla in Victoria's Boola Boola State Forest. Set along the Thomson River, it offers campers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance. 

Imagine stepping into a place where history is not just told—it's lived. Walhalla, a stunning historical town nestled in the picturesque countryside, offers an immersive experience for those passionate about history, culture, and breathtaking views.

THE HIKES

Hike 1: (Saturday) - Bruntons Bridge Ridge Walk 4.8km 230M Elevation

Hike 2: (Sunday) -Walhalla to Thomson Station via Poverty Point 12.7km 622M Elevation

Please note - A good level of fitness is required for these hikes. 

START TIME AND MEET LOCATION

Meeting Location: Pakenham station carpark

Meeting Time: Arrive between 8:30am-8:50am for a 9:00am Sharp Departure. 

NOTE: The Train Station is only the meeting location. We will be driving to the campsite by Car. Arriving on time is critical to the Event getting away on time. Participants not check-in by 8:50am may be left behind. 

CARPOOLING: Need help finding a ride to the hike, feel free to post in the Melbourne Social Walks Facebook Group.

WHAT TO BRING

- Water (at least 4-6L) - Water is not available at the camp site. 

- Lunches and Snack food for both days/hikes

- BYO Dinner or Money for Pub Dinner on the Saturday night in Walhalla

- BYO Breakfast for Sunday morning or Money for a Café breakfast in Walhalla

- BYO Camping Equipment (Tent, Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Sleeping Mat, Camping Chair, Head Lamp/torch)

WHAT TO WEAR

- Comfortable Walking Shoes

- Comfortable Weather Suitable Clothing for two days - Be prepared for all weather conditions (check weather the night before)

- Hat / Sunglasses & Sun Protection / Beanie

FINISH

Plan for two full days of adventuring!

We will aim to leave the final hiking location at 6:00pm and return to Melbourne around 8:30pm (another optional pub dinner) -the event times are not always perfect, so please allow for a later return time.
