WHAT TO EXPECT

Werribee Gorge is a popular natural reserve located in Victoria, Australia, known for its stunning geological formations, rugged landscapes, and rich biodiversity. The gorge, carved by the Werribee River over millions of years, features dramatic cliffs, rock pools, and dense forests, making it a perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s renowned for its hiking trails that cater to different skill levels, providing visitors with a chance to explore its scenic beauty, including panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

The Gorge is a perfect balance between tough, picturesque and adventurous with the Track being a 8km loop that takes around 3.5 hours to complete depending on our pace. A moderate level of fitness is required for this event.

The hike will have some decent incline in parts but it's all worth it for the picturesque scenery of the surrounding valleys and the gorge below. The highlights include jaw-dropping views, an adventurous chain walk across the cliffs around a section of the river and the possibility of a swim at the Werribee 'beach'.
