    Event description

Have a great day out on the country roads of Victoria and help support a great Australian museum. It's the first ever Melbourne to MOVE. Open to cars, trucks, motorbikes, and even buses.

Make a weekend of it and stay the night in gorgeous Goulburn Valley.

In the spirit of the "Bay to Birdwood" and the other great classic car runs of the world, we have little doubt that "Melbourne to Move" will build to be a must-do for every classic car enthusiast and be a cornerstone of Victoria's motoring landscape.

MOVE is an independent not-for-profit entity, receiving no ongoing funding, so Melbourne to MOVE will be a fundraiser for the museum, and it is hoped that it will be an annual event that serves to raise the profile of MOVE and raise a few dollars along the way.

To be held on Saturday the 22nd of April, the drive will start at CMV Truck and Bus in Derrimut (NW Melbourne). This state-of-the-art truck and bus dealership and service facility needs to be seen to be believed. The start will include onsite baristas dealing the caffeine, the smell of egg and bacon rolls and filling the morning air. The cavalcade will make its way north through Sunbury, Romsey, Lancefield, Tooborac, and then through to Nagambie. The final leg will follow the Goulburn River to Shepparton and the Finishline Festival at MOVE. The festival will run over the afternoon and into the evening. The festival will also feature the participating vehicles on display, and there will even be a people's choice award for the favourite machine of the day. The festival will also feature live music, food, wine, and other local treats. You will also have full access to the museum proper and all it has to offer including cars, motorbikes, trucks, buses, vintage bicycles, historic AV and telecommunications equipment, The Furphy Museum, and the jaw-dropping Loel Thomson Costume Collection.

Spots will be limited. Your entry will include a lunch on the drive, dinner and drinks at MOVE, and full access to the museum and the Finishline Festival. Entry is open to cars, motorbikes, trucks, and buses.

MOVE will provide manned, secure parking for vehicles overnight as part of your entry fee if you do make a weekend of it and stay overnight in Shepparton or surrounds.

A final briefing pack will be emailed out to all participants closer to the date.
