Paula Boo
An artist, a musician and environmental scientist, Paula Boo has many a musical and often hilarious story to share through the resonance of her deep connection to community and the natural environment. She sings about what it’s like to traverse both the creative and logical worlds. She sings from a pure space. She sings for peace, for love and laughter. Wherever Paula Boo is there is sure to be good times, real talk, tears of joy and heartfelt connection. Her music style has evolved into a unique acoustic soul with hints of jazz, blues, R&B, gospel and folk.
Paula first arrived on Minjerribah/Tjerrangerri/Terrangee (North Stradbroke Island) in 1989 as a backpacker from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She fell in love with the Island and its breathtaking natural beauty, open beaches, deep lagoons, bushland and unique creatures from both land and sea. ‘Straddie’ as it’s also colloquially known, has been her home since 1992. Paula’s transition from full time Scientist to full time Artist and Musician in 2019 continues to grow as her creative journey unfolds.Â
Peter Hunt
Within the miniatures of the universe that are music, songwriter, trumpeter and guitarist, Peter Hunt takes listeners on a journey through worlds of song. His music is formed from an affinity with African music, Jazz, with a hint of Celtic and a sense of this country woven through the fabric of the sound, seeking and finding belonging.
He performs, writes and records as a soloist and with many collaborations as well as holding workshops bringing people together to sing and generate harmony.  The most well-known of his groups is Kooii which has released a series of albums.  He also recently released a ‘solo’ album called ‘Vessel’ which features his voice and lyricism held by distinctly colourful and hypnotic guitar pieces.
Zaynab Wilson
Zaynab Wilson is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumental performing artist who writes songs and stories in styles that reflect the intuitive ancestral Afro-Caribbean rhythms of her heritage and embrace the soulful vocalizations of her inward and outward journeys.
Born in Montréal and raised in a creatively rich Trinidad and Tobagonian household, Zaynab began her career at age six in her steelpan-playing family ensemble. Now, a campaigner for the artistic process and cultural curiosity, she sculpts original projects and soundscapes that lead her on a globetrotting path of exchanging, networking, and anchoring in melody and rhythm.
