Members Start of the Year Event - Tour of the Royal Exhibition Building Dome Promenade and Afternoon Tea

Members of The Royal Society of Victoria and Geography Victoria are invited to a start of the year get together. The event will include afternoon tea at the RSV plus a tour of the Royal Exhibition Building Dome.

The Royal Exhibition Building was constructed for the 1880 Melbourne International Exhibition.

The Dome Promenade was a key attraction of the 1880 and 1888 world fairs, providing views of the gardens and the Melbourne skyline.

This UNESCO world-heritage listed building is an important Melbourne landmark and the guided tour will provide the opportunity to learn about the building's history and also provide an unparalleled 360° panoramic view of Melbourne.

You are welcome to:

• Join the tour (meeting at the Melbourne Museum foyer at 1:45 pm) and then walk to the RSV for afternoon tea or

• Just come along to the RSV for a get-together/gathering/afternoon tea @ 3:00pm

The tour capacity is limited so please register early.

Note - the upper dome promenade is not wheelchair accessible and requires climbing approximately 20 steps.
